TN Science Teachers’ Association (TSTA) & TN Math Teachers’Association (TMTA) 

November 21st - November 23rd, 2019

Attend two conferences for the price of one! Attendees can go to Math Sessions, Science sessions and/or STEM sessions. Get your Math or Science partner to attend with you to collect useful ideas for collaborations and integrations. If registered before November 10, the fee is $130. After November 10, registration is $150 on-site.

Dr. Kenneth Miller - Featured Speaker

Ken Miller is Professor of Biology at Brown University. After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1974, he was Assistant Professor at Harvard until 1980, when he moved to Brown University.  He is life sciences advisor to The News Hour on PBS and coauthor of the nation's leading high school biology textbook. In addition to his research work in cell biology, he has written extensively on evolution. He is the author of several popular books, including Finding Darwin's God: A Scientist's Search for Common Ground between God and Evolution (1999). His honors include the Public Understanding of Science Award from AAAS, the Stephen Jay Gould Prize from the Society for the Study of Evolution, the Gregor Mendel Medal from Villanova University, and the Laetare Medal from Notre Dame University. In 2015, he received the Presidential Citation of the National Science Teachers Association. 

Dr. Joseph Hamilton 

TSTA is honored to have Joseph H. Hamilton, professor of Physics at Vanderbilt University, deliver a brief account of his work in the discovery of new elements including Tennesine (Ts). The Louisiana native earned his B.S. from Mississippi College in 1954 and his M. S. and Ph.D. from Indiana University in 1956 and 1958 respectively. He has been awarded eight honorary doctorates as well.  Dr. Hamilton is a recognized Fellow in professional physics organizations and has been the recipient of numerous honors for his talents in teaching physics to college and high school students and to teachers.


Dr. Scott Eddins - Featured Speaker

Scott serves as the Mathematics Coordinator for the TN Department of Education focused on ensuring high quality mathematics instruction. He has presented at several state/national level conferences and served i

n several STEM roles over the years such as President of the Association of State Supervisors of Mathematics, Instructional Coordinator at the TN Tech University

Oakley STEM Center, TN State Board of Education staff and he spent more than a decade teaching math in middle and high schools.
